Congress Scholarships

To support the next generation of neurointerventional professionals, ESMINT is offering 15 Congress Scholarships to young physicians.

To receive a scholarship, applicants must have at least one abstract accepted for presentation at the Congress (see below for the full eligibility criteria), either as an oral or poster presentation.

The application form is available at the bottom of this page. Please note that applicants will only be notified of the outcome of their application after abstract notifications have been sent.

What the Scholarship Offers

These scholarships aim to make participation more accessible and to foster international exchange and professional growth.

The award consists of:

  • Registration fee
  • Up to 3 nights modest hotel accommodation (mostly in the Vieux Port area of Marseille)
  • One Networking Event ticket
  • For successful candidates from LIC and LMIC*, a contribution towards travel expenses (paid after the congress against proof of expenditure) of €500, and for candidates from EU Horizon Widening Member States and Associated Countries**, a contribution towards travel expenses (paid after the congress against proof of expenditure) of €250

ESMINT Congress Lecture

Eligibility Criteria

AGE/PROFESSION: Candidates must be physicians (whether qualified or in training) aged 42 or younger on 2 September 2026.

ABSTRACT: Candidates must have had at least one abstract accepted (for either oral or poster presentation) at the Congress.

COUNTRY: Application is open to candidates from all over the world.

All candidates should make it clear in their statement why they should be selected for this support to attend the ESMINT Congress.

Five of the scholarships are reserved from physicians from LIC and LMIC according to the most recent World Bank classifications and five are reserved for physicians from EU Horizon widening member states and associated countries. The remaining scholarships are open to all eligible applicants.

Application Process

  1. Fill in the online application form
  2. As part of this, you will be asked to upload the following documents:
  • Personal Statement (up to one A4 page) outlining why and how attending the 2026 ESMINT Congress will be of benefit to you, as well as why you are in need of this financial support
  • Current CV (maximum 2 pages)
  • Confirmation by the institution/hospital/university you work for (with stamp & signature)
  • Copy of the identity page of your passport

Important Notes

  1. All documents must be submitted in English
  2. Candidates should not register for the Congress now – instructions will be sent in due course.
  3. We will not accept application documents via e-mail. Applicants must upload their documents as part of the online application form.
  4. Applications must be submitted with the applicant’s true details. Awarded scholarships that are proved to bear false claims (i.e. country of residence) will be retracted and the applicant may face penalties for future participation in ESMINT events and activities.
  5. Please be sure to include all the requested documents with your form – only those applications by eligible candidates, that include the required documents, will be submitted for evaluation.

Evaluation Process

  1. An evaluation committee composed of ESMINT Executive Committee members will select the awardees.
  2. Applicants whose abstracts have been accepted for oral presentation and ESMINT Members will be prioritized.
  3. The reviewers will select those candidates they feel will most benefit from attending the Congress, taking financial need into consideration.
  4. The reviewers’ decision is final. We are unable to provide feedback to unsuccessful candidates.
