What is EXMINT?
In addition to ECMINT, which offers theoretical training in the full neurointerventional spectrum, in 2018 ESMINT started EXMINT – a separate course targeted at those physicians who want to perform only stroke treatment.
One EXMINT cycle comprises two 5-day courses (one in-person, one virtual), which include lectures, small group tutorials, debates, and tests. To attend course 2, students need to have attended the first course and passed the end of course exam.
The examination for the European Diploma in Ischaemic Stroke Intervention, the EDSI, is open only to EXMINT graduates. The examination takes place virtually in April / May and successful candidates are invited to receive their Diploma at the ESMINT Congress in September.
Endorsement
The courses are endorsed by ESO – the European Stroke Organisation and CIRSE – Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe.
