Prof. Markus Möhlenbruch

Markus A. Möhlenbruch is Head of Interventional Neuroradiology (MINTZ) and Deputy Medical Director of the Department of Neuroradiology at Heidelberg University Hospital, Germany. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Mainz.

Prof. Möhlenbruch has been active in the field of neurointervention since 2005. His early clinical training took place at the University of Frankfurt, followed by positions within the Departments of Radiology at the University of Cologne and the University of Bonn. He completed his formal neuroradiology training at the University of Heidelberg in 2012 and has been working there continuously since September 2011.

In 2021, Prof. Möhlenbruch was appointed Full Professor (W3) of Interventional Neuroradiology at Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg. He has authored more than 380 peer-reviewed publications. His clinical practice and research focus on the endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms, cerebrovascular malformations, and ischemic stroke. He has served as a principal or contributing investigator in numerous clinical trials related to stroke, aneurysms, and arteriovenous fistulas.

Prof. Möhlenbruch is an active member of several national and international societies and serves on the examination committees of the DGNR, ESNR, and ESMINT.
