Does ESMINT have a large and diverse membership?
Yes. ESMINT is the European society of choice for neuroscientists working in the field of minimally invasive treatments. Currently, ESMINT has over 500 members with a variety of subspecialty backgrounds. Networking, such as that possible through ESMINT, is one of the fastest growing medical developments.
How much does it cost to join ESMINT?
- The membership fee for Full Members and Medical Associate Members is €120 per annum
- The membership fee for Industrial Associate Members is €150 per annum.
- The membership fee for Junior Members and Medical Support Members is €50 per annum.
Membership fees can be paid online in our “MyMembership” area via bank transfer or by MasterCard or Visa.
As soon as you are a registered member, you will have access to the discounted registration fees for all ESMINT Meetings during the registered membership period.
Are there any rules which I have to follow?
Yes, the Articles of the Society have been approved by the Society Members. The Constitution is available at about/constitution.
I cannot get access to certain areas of your website. Why?
Being a member of ESMINT has advantages. Members are required to log into the Members Only area (using their identification number and password) in order to access certain benefit pages within the ESMINT website.
What are the membership categories and criteria?
This category shall be limited to medical practitioners who practise interventional neuroradiology, endovascular neurosurgery or minimally invasive treatments of neurological diseases in a European country. Full Members who cease to practise, or who work outside Europe, shall transfer to Medical Associate Membership; they shall have the right to return to Full Membership on showing that they again fulfill the requirements. Full Members shall all enjoy all rights and privileges of membership of the Society, including the right to vote, to serve on committees and to hold an office in the Society. They shall pay an annual subscription, the amount of which shall be determined by the General Assembly.
Medical Associate Membership
This category is open to any physicians not eligible for Full Membership. Medical Associate Members have all the rights and privileges of members of the Society, but are not entitled to vote, or to serve on committees, except as consultants, or to hold an office in the Society. They will pay an annual subscription fee, the amount of which will be determined by the General Assembly.
Industrial Associate Membership
This category is open to any individual from the industrial partners in the field of neurovascular therapeutics. Industrial Associate Members have all the rights and privileges of members of the Society, but are not entitled to vote, or to serve on committees, except as consultants, or to hold an office in the Society. They will pay an annual subscription fee, the amount of which will be determined by the General Assembly.
Junior Membership is intended for those in training and who have yet to complete the two-year period of training necessary to apply for Full Membership. Candidates will be required to certify their status of being in full-time, formal training. They will enjoy the privileges of a Full Member but are not entitled to vote or to hold any office in the Society. They will pay a discount on the Full Member’s subscription. Membership in this category is only available for a maximum continuous period of three years, after which time application for Full or Associate Membership is expected. It will lapse if subscriptions are not paid and automatically after three years. In either circumstance, no reapplication for membership in this category will be permitted.
Medical Support Membership
Medical Support Membership is intended for individuals of paramedical professions, working in the clinical environment and supporting the treatment of neurovascular diseases such as nurses, radiographer, technicians and researchers. Medical Support Members have all the rights and privileges of members of the Society, but are not entitled to vote, or to serve on committees, except as consultants, or to hold an office in the Society. They will pay an annual subscription fee, the amount of which will be determined by the General Assembly.
Honorary Membership shall be conferred by the Society upon individuals who are judged to have made an outstanding contribution to interventional neuroradiology, endovascular neurosurgery or minimally invasive treatment of neurological diseases. Conferment of membership will be proposed by the Executive Committee and must be confirmed by a simple majority of voting members. Honorary Members will have all the rights and privileges of Full Membership of the Society, with the exception that Honorary Members not otherwise eligible to be full members, shall not be entitled to vote, or to serve on committees, except as consultants, or to hold any office in the Society. They are not required to pay membership fees.
A full Associate or Honorary Member, may, at the time of retirement from professional activities, upon request to the Executive Committee, be exempt from membership fees. Emeritus Members have all the rights and privileges of membership of the Society, but are not entitled to vote, or to serve on committees, except as consultants, or to hold any office in the Society.
How do I join ESMINT?
Visit our JOIN page, and click a 'Register now' link in the right-hand panel.
Please apply for a membership by registering for a certain member category. Membership benefits and services will begin after a completed application has been received and processed. Applicants will be notified via email of their acceptance as an ESMINT member.
What other special membership categories does ESMINT offer?
In addition to regular memberships (Full Member), ESMINT offers categories for Junior, Medical Associate, Industrial Associate, Medical Support, Honorary and Emeritus Membership.
How do I reach the ESMINT Central Office?
The ESMINT Central Office is available Monday-Friday from 9:00 to 12.00 and from 14.00 to 17:00. The best way to contact us is via email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Does the application for membership need to be completed electronically?
No, while we encourage you to join online so that you can start receiving benefits immediately, you may also download the application and mail or fax it to us along with payment and additional information as necessary.

Are there any qualifications needed for becoming a member?
According to Article 3 of the bylaws, Society membership shall be open to all individuals who fulfil the given requirements of the bylaws. Applicants have to submit a completed application and pay the required membership dues.
If I join now, when will my membership begin and end?
Your membership will start immediately at the date when we receive your membership payment. You may end your membership by sending an email to our Central Office. Dissolution of membership will be confirmed by the Central Office.
I recently joined ESMINT but have not yet received any email from ESMINT. What should I do?
Verify your preferred email/mailing address and make necessary corrections by visiting the “MyMembership” link:
If you experience difficulty in receiving mail at work, check with your mailroom or/and change your preferred mailing address to your residence. Please contact the Central Office to discuss other options.
Can I go online after my membership has expired to renew it?
Yes, please log in into the “MyMembership” area and renew your membership.
What is my personal identification (ID) number and where do I find it?
Your personal identification (ID) number is your membership number. If you lose your ID number you can request an automatic response via email in the membership section of the website.
Please note: New members will be sent personalised welcome emails including their identification number and password.
Can I change my password?
When you are logged in, you may change your password.
ESMINT Members have the opportunity to vote at the General Assembly and therefore actively design the Society. In addition, Members can hold office as a Committee Chairman.

How do I resign from ESMINT?
Please send an email to the Central Office. Resignation confirmation will be effective from the end of the membership term.
Can I stay a member, but not receive any email?
You can control the information you receive via 'My Alerts' in your account. Click on the MY ACCOUNT link in the top right hand corner or click here if you are already logged in.
