EYMINT

With EYMINT, our vision is to enable meaningful and structured integration and interventional education of students, residents, trainees and fellows in ESMINT.

EYMINT aims at providing support, networking opportunities and a better training/research environment for junior physicians with a neurointerventional focus. With that in mind, we would like to integrate young specialists through e-fellowships, clinical and methodological webinars, surveys and research assessing and enhancing neurointerventional training and education in Europe. We provide a space for communication and exchange of young interventionalists to improve their knowledge and skills.

EYMINT Research and Survey

Our goal is to support early-career neurointerventionalists with resources and guidance tailored to their needs:

  • Provide a platform for, initiate, promote and publish multicenter collaborations and surveys of EYMINT members
  • Systematic review on INR surveys
  • Guidance on statistics for early career researchers (Webinars available: add online-Link)

Neurointerventional surveys between 2000 and 2023: a systematic review

15 September 2024
Surveys are increasingly used in neurointervention to gauge physicians’ and patients’ attitudes, practice patterns, and ’real-world’ treatment strategies, particularly in conditions for which few, or no evidence-based, recommendations exist. While survey-based studies can provide valuable insights into real-world problems and management strategies, there is an inherent risk of bias.

e-Fellowship Programme

The EYMINT team has developed and oversees the innovative e-Fellowship Programme, designed to enhance practical learning for early-career neurointerventionalists. This six-month virtual fellowship connects fellows with experienced mentors, allowing them to remotely observe and interact in live neurointerventional procedures across Europe.

Through one-on-one sessions and joint sessions with other fellows, participants gain exposure to complex cases and techniques, including stroke interventions, aneurysm treatments, and AV-malformation procedures.

The programme not only broadens procedural knowledge but also fosters international connections within the neurointerventional community, supported by an educational grant from industry partners.

Applications for the 2025 edition will open in November.

EYMINT Department-to-Department Programme

EYMINT is planning a new programme that will provide a selection of young physicians each year with a grant to support a one-week observational visit in an INR department outside their home country. This programme offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into international neurointerventional practices, distinct from a full fellowship experience. Further details will be announced soon.

International Collaboration

EYMINT is dedicated to fostering international collaboration to advance the field of neurointervention for young professionals.

A key goal is to strengthen ties with the Young Stroke Physicians and Researchers (YSPR) Committee of the European Stroke Organisation (ESO) by encouraging mutual representation and hosting joint EYMINT/YSPR sessions at the European Stroke Organisation Conference (ESOC). This partnership aims to reinforce the role of interventional expertise in ESO guidelines.

Additionally, EYMINT is collaborating with other leading societies, including the Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery (SNIS), the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology (SVIN), and the World Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology (WFITN), with further partnerships in development.

Here is the person, leading the area of International Collaboration, dedicated to strengthening global connections.
