As part of International Women’s Day 2026, WIN – Women in Neurointervention, a group within ESMINT – is proud to share the results of the #BeBoth photo campaign.

Interventional neuroradiology is demanding – and deeply fulfilling. Yet the perception still persists that this profession is difficult to reconcile with other goals, passions, or family life.

With the #BeBoth campaign, WIN set out to challenge this perception and make visible what many colleagues experience every day:

You can be both.

More Information

Following our #BeBoth call in February, neurointerventionalists from different countries shared personal photos reflecting the many facets of their lives beyond the angiosuite. The idea was simple: show two sides of life that coexist.

For some, this meant work shoes next to running shoes. For others, work shoes next to a child’s shoe, a hiking boot, or even the paw of a four-legged companion.

Each image tells a small story – about balance, identity, and the many paths within neurointervention.

The #BeBoth Community

Together, these contributions form a visual statement: There is no single way to be a neurointerventionalist. The collage below brings together one image from each participant, representing the diversity of experiences within our community.

Thank You

We sincerely thank all colleagues who contributed to the #BeBoth campaign. By sharing these moments, you help make visible what is often lived but rarely shown.

Your images remind us that neurointervention is not only a profession – it is part of a life that can include many passions, roles, and identities.
