The first hybrid ECMINT, ECMINT 4.3 was held at St. Anne’s College in Oxford from 20th – 24th June 2022, with the online exam on 27th June. It was the first F2F meeting since ECMINT 3.3 In December 2019 – both were on Ischaemic Stroke……and much has changed!

There were 79 delegates staying in the college and 36, virtual, from all over the world. It was wonderful for everyone (F2F) to see each other, meet new friends, communicate and interact once again – we have all missed out on the last 2.5 years.

Anatomy, pathophysiology, strategies, evolving thrombectomy techniques, imaging techniques, complications, intravenous lysis, service organization and anaesthesia were only some of the important issues discussed – established trials were reviewed and current and future developments presented by experts.

Professor Lingsma lectured on medical statistics – a new programme topic and something we need try to understand in view of the explosion of neurointerventional literature that has hit our profession – hence ECMINT is embarking upon a regular session on medical statistics to enable us to realise and focus on the truth.

The weather was fabulous – we could sit outside in the evenings. We had a wonderful evening socialising together and some brave delegates actually went punting on the river.
