At the recent ESMINT Congress (4–6 September 2024, Marseille, France), the new ESMINT Executive Board was officially elected, marking an exciting chapter for the society as it continues to advance neurointerventional care across Europe and beyond.
We are proud to announce that Dr. Anne-Christine Januel, an interventional neuroradiologist from Toulouse University Hospital, France, has been elected as the new president of the European Society of Minimally Invasive Neurological Therapy (ESMINT). Dr. Januel succeeds Dr. Zsolt Kulcsár (University Hospital of Zürich, Switzerland), whose leadership has significantly contributed to the society’s growth and success.
Dr. Januel’s appointment is historic, as she becomes the first woman to hold the presidency at ESMINT, reflecting the society’s ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusive leadership. Under her guidance, ESMINT will continue to focus on comprehensive education, innovative research, enthusiastic networks, and engaged outreach to improve patient outcomes in Europe and beyond.
Other key appointments to the executive board include Prof. Dr. Christian Taschner (University Hospital Freiburg, Germany) as the new general secretary and Dr. Luca Valvassori (San Carlo Borromeo Hospital, Milan, Italy) as treasurer.
With the newly elected board, ESMINT is poised to further strengthen its role in shaping the future of neurointerventional care.
