Education

Education remains at the core of ESMINT’s mission. This year, we made strides in training and professional development:

ESMINT’s contributions to research have been impactful and forward-looking:

  • Established the MDR Expert Database to address the urgent need for qualified neurointervention experts in the EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR) certification process, connecting Notified Bodies with independent clinical experts.
  • In our effort to develop guidelines, ESMINT partnered with ESO on the guideline for the acute management of basilar artery occlusion.
  • Endorsed clinical trials to promote high-quality research with the International PERForator ANeurysm Registry (PERFAN) as a notable example.
  • Launched the 1st Pilot Research Grant, recognizing two groundbreaking projects with significant potential.

Network

Our vibrant network continues to grow and strengthen connections:

  • Expanded membership development initiatives to engage and support our diverse community.
  • Empowered early-career professionals through EYMINT’s webinars, research initiatives, the e-Fellowship, and more.
  • Empowered nurses, technicians, and radiographers (ETMINT) with targeted support, including a specialized two-half-day programme during the ESMINT Congress.
  • Advanced the goals of WIN (Women in Neurointervention) by supporting female professionals through dedicated workshops, event endorsements, and initiatives promoting leadership and mentorship.

Outreach

ESMINT’s outreach initiatives have fostered collaboration and expanded our
global footprint:

  • The ESMINT Congress 2024 was a standout event, showcasing cutting-edge research, clinical advances, and enriching sessions such as case discussions and the Morbi-Mortality Corner to foster practical learning and peer exchange.
  • Continued growth of the EastMINT initiative, supporting neurointervention in underserved regions.
  • Promoted aligned events through ESMINT endorsement, supporting initiatives that share our mission to advance neurointervention.
  • Strengthened partnerships with societies, including new Memoranda of Understanding with FSNI, DGNR, SFNR, and ESNR.
