The Journal of NeuroInterventional Surgery (JNIS) – the official journal of SNIS, ESMINT and affiliated societies – has launched a new Assistant Editor Program, offering an exciting opportunity for early- to mid-career neurointerventionalists to further develop their academic and editorial skills.
As a partner society of SNIS and a co-affiliated society of JNIS, ESMINT warmly encourages eligible members to consider applying.
Strengthening Academic Leadership
The program is designed for JNIS-affiliated society members who have been in practice for more than three years and are interested in expanding their experience in peer review and editorial processes.
Assistant Editors will work closely with Associate Editors and the Editor-in-Chief, gaining structured mentorship and hands-on experience in manuscript evaluation and editorial decision-making.
Responsibilities and Benefits
Selected candidates will:
- Review manuscripts assigned by their Associate Editor
- Participate in dedicated Assistant Editor education webinars
- Potentially co-author editorials
- Rotate annually to work with different Associate Editors over a three-year term
Benefits include mentorship, dedicated office hours with the Editor-in-Chief, and prioritized consideration for future Associate Editor positions.
Application Details
Priority consideration will be given to members of JNIS-affiliated societies, including ESMINT.
Applications (CV and cover letter outlining relevant qualifications) should be sent to Marie Williams Denslow at williams@snisonline.org by 9 March 2026. Download the full call for applications (PDF).
