Earlier this spring, the ESMINT leadership gathered once again for a two-day in-person seminar in the heart of Toulouse to reflect, exchange, and further shape the Society’s strategic direction.

The meeting brought together Cluster Directors, Board Members, ExCom Chairs, the ESMINT Office, and invited representatives from sister societies, with industry partners joining during the second part of Day Two.

Day 1: Strengthening Alignment and Collaborations

Following a shared lunch and opening remarks, Day One began with a comprehensive session led by the Outreach Cluster.

Updates covered key areas such as engagement with Eastern Countries (EastMINT), professional liaison activities, and developments around the ESMINT Congress 2026. Discussions allowed for deeper reflection on open questions, including the future direction of health economics within the Society.

A dedicated session on guideline development provided valuable insights into ESMINT’s perspective on processes, challenges, and lessons learned.

The afternoon focused on collaborations and society affairs, including updates from the Joint Board and EBNI, as well as exchanges with sister societies such as ESO, EANS, and SNIS, alongside JNIS, the official journal of ESMINT. These discussions reinforced ESMINT’s strong position within the broader neurointerventional landscape and its commitment to international collaboration.

The day concluded with informal networking over a shared dinner, offering further opportunities for exchange in a relaxed setting.

Day 2: Education, Network, Research, and Industry Collaboration

Day Two opened with an extensive Education Cluster session, covering the full spectrum of ESMINT’s educational activities – from ECMINT and EXMINT to Online Learning, Fellowships and e-Fellowships, Skills Training, and the European Diploma in Neurointervention (EDNI) as well as the European Diploma in Ischemic Stroke Intervention (EDSI).

This was followed by sessions from the Network and Research Clusters, highlighting developments in internal affairs, membership systems, digital communication, and key initiatives such as WIN, EYMINT, and ETMINT. Research discussions focused on publications, AI and robotics, guideline development, and new product introduction.

In the afternoon, industry partners joined for a series of presentations and interactive workshops. ESMINT provided key updates and highlights from each cluster and ongoing MDR-related activities.

Small-group discussions enabled focused, topic-driven exchanges, fostering open dialogue and identifying opportunities for future collaboration between ESMINT and its partners.

Beyond the Agenda: Fostering Collaboration and Vision

Beyond the agenda, the seminar once again offered what matters most: the time and space to think together. As always, the ESMINT spirit of open exchange, strong teamwork, and shared vision was palpable throughout.

We thank everyone who contributed to the success of this event – through their presence, thoughtful presentations, and spirited discussions.

We look forward to the next opportunity to meet, connect, and shape the future of neurointervention together.
