Since its launch in 2009, the Journal of NeuroInterventional Surgery (JNIS) has become a leading publication in our field. As the official journal of ESMINT, JNIS plays a central role in advancing and sharing high-quality science, clinical studies, and practice-changing discussions with the neurointerventional community worldwide.

Thank you to Felipe Albuquerque – Welcome to Michael Chen

We warmly thank Felipe Albuquerque for his leadership and dedication as Editor-in-Chief of JNIS. Under his guidance, the journal has continued to grow as a leading voice in the field.

We are pleased to welcome Michael Chen as the new Editor-in-Chief and look forward to his vision in further advancing JNIS.

JNIS Goes Fully Digital

From January 2026, JNIS will transition to an online-only publication. Each issue will continue to be published monthly in a curated format, now available as a digital flipbook PDF as well as via the JNIS website. This step not only increases accessibility across devices but also significantly reduces the journal’s carbon footprint.

Call for Associate Editors – JNIS & JNIS Advances

SNIS is calling for applicants to serve as Associate Editors of the Journal of NeuroInterventional Surgery (JNIS) and its new companion journal, JNIS Advances.

It is an exciting time in the life of the JNIS journal family. Recent successes certainly indicate the growing popularity and impact. JNIS was recently issued a new Impact Factor of 4.3, as calculated by Thomson-Reuters. In addition, the number of submissions to the journal continues at a record pace thus necessitating the creation of JNIS Advances. The journal is breaking new ground in the publication of the latest trials, research and reviews that shape our specialty. These accomplishments have made a JNIS premier journal in the neurointerventional surgery space.

With this growing popularity, it is essential that we continue to lead the way in promoting clinical sciences and best practices in neurointerventional surgery. Our Associate Editors are vital in this effort. Associate Editors help shape the editorial content of the journal and serve an essential role in the peer review process.

To apply, please send your CV and a cover letter, including most recent and relevant qualifications, to williams@snisonline.org by October 1, 2025.
