This is a special joint ESMINT-SNIS Webinar and is free of charge.

What is the webinar about?

The webinar will focus on a (presumably) rare subgroup of intracranial vascular lesions – perforator aneurysms. Due to their low incidence, our understanding of the natural history, best management (conservative vs endovascular and surgical), and clinical outcome is limited. With improved imaging quality lenticulostriate and basilar perforator aneurysms are increasingly diagnosed.

The webinar will give an overview of the current literature, and possible treatment strategies. In addition, the recently launched international PERForator ANeurysm Registry (PERFAN) will be presented. The goal of the registry is to gather insights in the diagnosis and treatment of these aneurysms, an ultimately improve patient care and outcomes.

Learning objectives

    • Imaging of perforating artery aneurysms
    • Current management strategies
    • PERFAN registry (multicenter, observational registry)
