Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It is a great honour to serve as President for the Congress 2026 ESMINT Congress.
My task is made easier thanks to the incredible work of the colleagues who have come before me. Their dedication, together with that of our entire team, inspires us as we work to build on their successes and deliver an outstanding congress.
Our motto for the 2026 Congress is:
Connecting minds, improving lives
Connection is central to our field: connection with colleagues at home, nationally, and internationally; connection with other disciplines; and connection with our industry partners across research, development, education, and beyond.
These relationships form dynamic networks that ultimately serve a shared purpose—improving lives. First and foremost, this means achieving optimal patient care. But it also reminds us to consider our own well-being: how can we enhance our working environments for ourselves and for the next generation?
We are currently working intensively on the preliminary programme. To ensure it is as relevant and engaging as possible, we are asking: Which diseases and therapeutic areas will shape our work in the near future? What have we learned in recent years? Which new developments, such as robotics or new imaging modalities, may transform and improve our daily practice?
We are exploring new session formats, including the idea of translating our successful webinar case forums into a live congress session. We’re also considering a restructuring of the Congress opening. We look forward to sharing updates in due course!
