Johanna Ospel will discuss “Sex- and gender differences in acute stroke management”, highlighting how recognizing these differences can improve patient outcomes. Key topics include:

About the moderators & speakers
Franziska Dorn is the Chair of the ESMINT WIN Committee. She is Deputy Director and Head of Neurointervention Section at the University Hospital Bonn, Germany. She is Specialist in Radiology with Focus on Neuroradiology.
Violiza Inoa is a Neurologist and Neurointerventionalist at the Semmes Murphey Clinic and an Associate Professor in Neurology and Neurosurgery at the University of Tennessee. She leads multiple international efforts to enhance training and knowledge of stroke treatments and serves as the Chair of the Women in Neurointervention Committee for the Society of Neurointerventional Surgery (SNIS).
Cynthia Kenmuir, MD, PhD, FSVIN is an Endovascular and Vascular Neurologist at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in the United States, where she serves as the Chief of Neurology, Director of the Stroke Program and Director of the Neurointerventional Program for the UPMC Altoona campus. She is the current Chair of the Women in Neurointervention Committee of SVIN. Dr Kenmuir is particularly interested in acute stroke treatments, carotid artery stenosis, venous sinus stenosis and aneurysm treatments.
Johanna Ospel works at the Foothills Medical Centre, University of Calgary, Canada. She is a Neurointerventional Fellow and stroke researcher, Co-PI ESCAPE-MeVO trial, and the EYMINT research and survey committee lead at ESMINT.
Stephanie H. Chen is an Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery at the University of Washington and Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington, USA. She specializes in cerebrovascular, endovascular, and brain tumors, with a research focus on stroke inflammation, new therapies, and clinical trials for cerebrovascular disease.
