Programme

The programme will run for one year and will focus on 3 areas:

  1. EDUCATION:
Support will be offered to participants to attend the EXMINT course, the Skills Training course and to attend the ESMINT Congress. Participants will also be encouraged to take part in the ESMINT e-Fellowship programme.
  2. E-PROCTORSHIP:
Remote proctoring by the means of telemedicine under supervision and support of mentors in the neurointerventional field.
  3. OBSERVERSHIP:
Grants will be offered to a neurointerventionalist physician for a one-month observership at one of the designated centers.

Pilot programme

Starting in early 2025, a pilot study will be carried out with four centers: Republic of Northern Macedonia (Skopje), Bosnia and Herzegovina (Sarajevo) and Serbia (Novi Sad), Montenegro (Podgorica).

Following the review of data and feedback collected in the pilot programme and cost analysis, we will evaluate the possibility of repeating the programme on a larger scale.

The evaluation will be carried out by a committee consisting of the Chair of the EastMINT Committee, the Head of the Education Cluster, and the Board of ESMINT, alongside delegates from ESO and MENC.

More Information

This EastMINT webinar explored the current status and latest developments in stroke services across Eastern Europe, with a particular focus on the pilot edition of the EastMINT programme. Led by EastMINT Chair Ivan Vukasinovic, the session brought together representatives from the participating centres in Novi Sad, Sarajevo and Skopje, who shared local perspectives, challenges and early outcomes.

The discussion highlighted region-specific needs while underscoring the value of collaboration, education and structured exchange in strengthening stroke care. The webinar reflects EastMINT’s core pillars of quality education, e-proctorship and observership, and illustrates how the programme supports sustainable capacity building across the region.
