What is the webinar about?
This webinar will provide the audience with the basics of describing their study methodology and data for their neurointervention paper. It will focus on:
- Types of studies in neurointervention with examples (RCT vs. observational cohort study vs. retrospective study etc.)
- Which questions can a retrospective study answer? What is the terminology to describe findings in each study (eg, “associated with” instead of “led to…”/ “caused…”)
- Descriptive statistics (how to describe and display my data), choosing appropriate tables and graphs (avoid misleading graphs)

He is a clinical trialist, neurologist and epidemiologist at Foothills Medical Centre, Calgary. He has led several international randomized controlled trials in the field of acute ischemic stroke, such as ESCAPE, ESCAPE-NA1 and ESCAPE-NEXT.
